I found the following book at my Library this weekend. It would be a great go-along for Hickory Chair or Helen Keller in Beyond FIAR.
Private and Confidential : A Story About Braille by Marion Ripley--Tells the story of a girl who gets a pen pal from Australia. After several letters she learns the boy is legally blind and his sister has been writing his letters for him. She decides to write him a letter in braille and gets one in return. There is a letter in actual braille that has to be "translated" using the a braille alphabet card. There is also a section at the end with the translation and a bit about the braille language.
It also references the National Federation of the Blind website for more information. www.nfb.org
Hope you can find this book at your library too! Enjoy!
