Probably most of you won't be doing the coat books until fall, but I won't remember to tell you about this book then!
It's Jam and Jelly by Holly and Nellie by Gloria Whelan. It's the story of a family in Northern Michigan. The little girl is starting school in the fall and she needs a coat and boots. The mother (I noticed she always wears a dress, which I liked, even though I don't wear dresses exclusively) starts finding berries in the woods and making jelly and I won't tell you what happens in the end. The story/illustrations is filled with nature and could be a unit in itself.
Hope your library has this beautiful book!
