Roxaboxen fun

We had a GREAT time with Roxaboxen last week (again- we already read this one- but it was requested that we re-row it before moving on to Beyond). We concentrated on the 4 corners, and learned a bit about all 4 states and their flags. We learned about the different types of rocks and played a Magic School Bus Computer game- called Inside the Earth- perfect- one of the games on it was "making" different kinds of rocks with temperature and pressure. We watched a Reading Rainbow episode on Saguaro Cactus. Learned about different Desert Animals, Watched short "movies" on some of the animals on this website http://www.desertusa.com/index.html and the funnest of all- ds built a shoebox diarama of Roxaboxen.
