Ok, I know to boil the water, make the swirling vortex of doom, carefully drop in the egg, time it...etc. They turn out fine for the most part. I problem is the PAN when I am done! The side are covered in a stuck on egg stuff that is MISERABLE to scrub off...next to impossible! How do you make them without this being a huge clean up? :D Thank yoU!

 I have never tried it, but what if you sprayed the pot with Pam prior to adding the water?

I use a microwave egg poacher which then goes into the dishwasher. :)
I remember my mom having a special egg poaching pan (http://www.amazon.com/RSVP-International-Endurance-Poacher-4-c/dp/B000NQ63VG/ref=sr_1_16?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1289532448&sr=1-16). Water goes in the bottom, eggs go in the little cups. The first time I saw poached eggs actually made in the water was at my mil's house. There was no stiring "swirling vortex of doom" though. Just boiling water (a good rolling boil, it has to be hot enough the egg white kind of seals itself almost instantly otherwise the egg just goes everywhere and makes a mess...don't wanna know how I know that :p ) and a slotted spoon to lift the egg out when it's done. The pan wasn't bad to clean out, just a little bit of egg in there.
