Hi,
I will be using BYFiar next year with my dd who will be 8. I have rowed Fiar volumes 1-3 and am now gearing up for volume 4 to complete this year. How many school years are you able to get out of BYFiar? I suppose it depends on how long we study each literature title but I am just looking for a general idea. Also, for Fiar people have rowed the titles more than once but do you repeat titles in Beyond? Sorry for all of the questions but I like planning ahead.
Thanks,
Penny

Somewhere- I think in the intro to Beyond it says to plan 1 volume each semester- but we couldn't rush through the books that fast- Our plan was 1 volume each year- we got through about 1 1/2 volumes, and ds's interests took us a different route, and we haven't made it back to beyond yet-

Hi,
How many school years are you able to get out of BYFiar?
Three (We use it for 4th -6th grades.)
I use one volume per year which includes rowing 2 titles per semester. We do no re-row BYFIAR titles.
HTH!

We did the same as Kendall. One year per volume. There is a LOT to cover with each book.
We did re row FIAR titles, but not Beyond Titles. I imagine we'll do the same with my 4 1/2 year old too!

We also have done one volume per school year of BY.
I won't be re-rowing BY, but I didn't really re-row FIAR either. To me it takes the enjoyment and spark out of it so never liked that.
Instead I choose to fill in with other unit studies.

Same here. We usually have some extra weeks left during the year for rabbit trails or other studies of interest to do in between Beyond books. For instance, we did Amanda Bennetts Thanksgiving study in Nov. :thumb:

We fill our "extra weeks" between BY titles with Volume 4 units, usually.

 This is how it's working here. We're currently in our first year rowing Beyond books.
I did a daily review of books (http://our-faith-filled-days.blogspot.com/search/label/Five%20in%20a%20Row%20Review%20Days) with my dd this summer from Volume 1 of FIAR. I plan to do Volume 2 this coming summer, Volume 3 the next year, and finally Volume 4. It's a nice review for her as she rowed some of them when she was little.
