Does this volume take it to the next level but not quite BYFIVAR?

Yes. It is a wonderful bridge to Beyond. Longer lessons. About 2 weeks per book for most families. It was the perfect transition for us. The book is HUGE--a full year of plans with recipes and Bible supplement and the story disks. :)

that's good news b/c FIVAR is wearing me out changing subjects every week.
Can you buy the book? I saw it on digital and if you bought all 16 units it would cost $144!

Yes, you can buy the book at

It's worth every penny!
By the way, we do FIAR Vols. 1 - 3 for two weeks---instead of trying to fit all five subject areas in one week. With all the extra go-along books we do, field trips, and so on, two weeks fit better for us. Just a thought...

www.RainbowResource.com (http://www.RainbowResource.com) carries the FIAR volumes.( Item #: 024181) at Rainbow Vol 4 is much less in print, but (to be honest) for a years worth of non-consumable material over 5 subject area--it would still be a bargain for $144. ;)
I don't think the unit for The Bravest of Us All is in the print volume as that is fairly recent. It is a HUGE download and a wonderful study.

Do you get more in the digital version per unit? I still don't understand why it would cost $144 for each book when the print version is $75. What's the difference besides it being non-consumable?
Thanks for your help!

I wondered this myself. I have been keeping a watch for a used copy on homeschool classifieds. I put a want to buy there for vol. 4.

The digital download would give consumer the option of only buying the lessons for titles that are readily available (in print). If you library doesn't have any of the oop titles, and if there is a charge for requesting them through ILL, then you could just purchase the lessons for titles you can find. I think at the time volume 4 went digital, there were 4 titles that were oop, but Hanna's Cold Winter is back in print. I don't know about the other three.
