My 11yo only has 3 or so BY titles left to row not including Hitty. :) We've meandered with our own studies here and there or he would have been done last year or earlier.
My just about 10yo dd has done some BY titles, but not nearly all and she hasn't rowed Sarah, Plain and Tall yet. My son has but he has not done Skylark yet.
So, I was thinking of doing SPT with my dd and then doing Skylark with them together after that.
Would you schedule them back to back or do Sarah with her early on and then do Skylark in the spring.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

We did them back to back and I think it worked well for us. What books does your ds have left?

Ditto. We did one lapbook including both books.

We rowed them back-to-back because we just weren't ready to leave SPT, so Skylark provided an excellent opportunity to keep momentum going. :)

Homer Price
The Saturdays
Skylark
and part of George Washington Carver
it is obvious how much we have meandered and done our own thing too because he started BY when he was 7 in 2nd grade!
He's going to be 12 and starting 7th grade. Ahem.
He also never did FIAR so he has done some rows here and there along the way. but that is why he's not quite finished.

We just finished The Saturdays and it was one of my favorites. I love Elizabeth Enright's writing style. I'm sure taking your time is probably better than what we've done this year. I feel like we rushed and threw 5 books in plus a few weeks on western expansion. My oldest dd only has Marie Curie left.

I plan on rowing SP&T and then Skylark. SP&T will be our next title. I choose that one because of the ocean-related topics (a good review from our Nim's study) and since we have not worked too much on New England states or prairies, I thought this would be a good time to cover those topics.

I am also planning on doing SPT and Skylark back to back with my 11 yr. old 6th grader. I am wondering if I should try combining my 7 year old 2nd/3rd grader with her. Part of me would like to simplify by doing this, but part of me says, "NO, we still have too many good FIAR stories to do with my 7 yr. old before Beyond!" :)
