Here are some of the things we did. First are go-along books we liked. Second is activities. This was with a 2, but almost 3 yr old.

Books
10 Little Rubber Ducks by Eric Carle
Ducky by Eve Bunting
Beach Ball by Peter Sis
The Story of Red Rubber Ball by Constance Levy
The Big Big Sea by Martin Waddell
Reflections by Ann Jonas
When Sophie Gets Angry by Molly Bang
One Fall Day by Molly Bang

Activities
Found yellow ball on every page in book (did this several times)
Did circle treasure hunt through house (looked for things that are circles in the house)
Did shape and color file folder games (these are games I already had, just used this time to reinforce shapes and colors)
Rolled ball while listening to music from Music Together CD’s
Made storm with blanket and ball
Read about Jesus calming the storm
Made pictures using foam shapes (again talking about circles/shapes)
Did painting project from Storybook Art (http://www.amazon.com/Storybook-Art-Hands-Children-Illustrators/dp/093560703X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266147918&sr=8-1) using When Sophie Gets Angry by Molly Bang (Storybook Art is a great resource. Many of the books or illustrators from BFIAR and FIAR are in there and I often find an art project to go with our books. I'm not good at thinking of them myself, if you are then it's not really necessary. My library had it and I looked at it first and then ended up buying a copy.)

Our favorite activity by far was bringing yellow balloons (with long kite strings attached so we wouldn't loose them) to the ocean and tossing them into the waves at different spots along the beach. They had fun discovering that some areas will pull the balloon out quickly, some slowly, and some will push it back to the shore. We did at different times during the day, so we also got to experience tides, but I didn't go into depth explaining it - it was more important to just play with the concept.

I also made a perspective matching game. I drew things like an apple, house, car, and the yellow ball from both the top and side, and then she matched the pairs.

We didn't do nearly as much as the other ladies. But my almost two year old loves the book and always points out the yellow ball on each page. We also had fun looking for all the balls in the front cover. The other activity they really enjoyed from the manual was using a blanket to toss the ball around.
