I just wanted to pop in and say hello! :hi:

I am new to FIAR and currently waiting for my order to arrive so I can dig in! I am very excited.

I am also so relieved to have found this particular board. My second child, age 4, has cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC) and among many obstacles has been delayed development and speech. I am doing a light Nursery School/Pre-K with him this year and will see next fall whether to keep him Pre-K or go on to K, because supposedly with CFC it is eventually all supposed come together neurologically and they catch up with their peers around 7-9 yrs. I just want to get through today...;)

Anyway, I am so glad to meet all of you! I look forward to talking with you all more.

Welcome! My sn's kids have vision issues (cataracts, glaucoma, nystagmus, etc) and cleft lip/palate. When is your ds's birthday? I prefer my children to be older (nobody graduating before 18) and would err on the side of being older even if he didn't have delays, so you may not want my opinion;)

That's kind of tough but I'd still probably keep him back, but that's just me.:)

I think I am going to. The school will not allow me to send him to Pre-K (I had originally wanted all my kids to go to Pre-k and then HS starting with K) since he is eligible for K. They said I would have to send him to K and then just hold him back at the end of the year. So I figure we will just do light pre-k this year and then pre-k full force next year and then we will start K at the age of 6. This is why I love HS, I can tailor to them.

I have never been crazy anyway about boys starting school at 5.

I totally agree with you on both counts!:)
