Looking for Augmentive Communication Device Ideas

Leighton needs something that he can type the answers out on that is portable. We use ASL & Eng. for reg. communication, but his handwriting is so hard & exhausting for him we think it's limiting his progression in other areas esp. math and spelling. He is not a manipulatives kinda kid.:eyes: All suggestions are appreciated.
