Please pray hard for Lera. I had truly hoped that we would be able to bring her home, but after my daughter's seizure my dh said no. She is due to be transferred from the baby house to the mental institution VERY soon. Please pray for a home for her. She so desperately needs someone to save her. My heart is breaking. I can't bear the thought of her in somewhere like that.

I'm with you sweetie. I saw the post from RR early this a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep for being so upset. I knew/know you guys were not at a place to go get her. I do hope that folks will pray, as I have had someone contact me who might be interested. Of course the reality is that dozens or more of those kids got transferred this week, we just never knew about them. Once you do know about them, though, is it ever hard.

I so understand your heart on this. We are in much the same position. I thought we were close and then our son was dx with Juvenile diabetes and it's been a rough ride since then.
I will be praying for Lera and for God to move someone's heart to go get her!!! Praying for your heart too.  My heart aches for all the sweet children and like you my heart is drawn to one little girl. Praying!!!

Jess, that site makes me smile and bawl.
I was looking at things and they have the suggestion to have some fundraising parties. This part REALLY stuck out to me:
Above all, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. There is no "Christmas" without CHRIST. On that very first Christmas night, God gave us all the gift of His only child. Contributions from your guests can make a huge difference for an orphan who is waiting for a family to adopt them... cold, hungry, and alone at Christmas.
There is a deep symbolism for me to think about us being adopted into God's family and for us to work toward getting OTHER'S adopted into a spiritual AND physical family.
Anyway, something to consider.
The sibling group of 4 kids just tears my heart out! I'd love to be able to have them! My daughter asks about Kathryn and Connor. Sigh.
Pray my friends, pray!

I posted a link to Jill's blog on my facebook status. Perhaps we can all post and hopefully pass it on. I am praying for her.

That was something I forgot to mention in my blog post because it almost goes without saying: you will be able to tell her about Jesus.
I do hope you sweet ladies will pray because someone wonderful is asking about Lera. I also ask for prayers for our own Jess because it's no small thing to give up on the dream of adopting Lera.
I really appreciate how so many people on the FIAR boards have a heart for adoption.

Jill, I didn't think, but I posted your blog on FB for the Lera post. I am hoping that the power of hte internet takes off and that folks will be moved for these children and donate, consider adopting themselves and commit to praying!!
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF SHE GETS A HOME! Wayde and I will help sponsor. He's kind of funny. He's not good at "someday" sponsoring, but if someone is WAITING on a kid, he's all for it! Funny guy.
eta: boy I'm having a senior moment! I already mentioned I'd posted the link. If it's a problem, let me know and I'll take it down.

Oh CJ, it isn't a problem AT ALL!  I was thinking of you earlier, what a fantastic cheerleader you are, and how much you've done to help Lera's cause!!! You know, you are very, very, very welcome to join the Reece's Rainbow Yahoo group. Actually, anyone is welcome to join, because we have lots of ladies who are there to encourage those who are adopting. I'm now one of them, since we are allegedly no longer adopting. :/
I have been emailing Andrea from RR and she said that she had several inquiries coming from my blog, so "Yay Team!" ;) I'll certainly let everyone know if a family is found, unless that particular person ends up telling you herself. :D
P.S. I posted my blog link on facebook yesterday, so you weren't doing anything I hadn't already done. It's a public blog, anyway. It's fair game for posting.

Leslie,
I remember that we talked about RR before. It is so hard to want something that you know is right, but have things just not work out. I feel for all the children I see on RR, but I really thought she was supposed to be mine. I will be her spiritual mother though.
Jill,
Thanks for thinking of me. It is very hard to let go, especially when I think of where she could be going and how she will be treated. It makes me want to scream. I pray that the family you talked about will take her home. I will donate $ for their adoption. Oh, and I will pray HARD for that precious girl.
CJ,
You are so sweet. Thanks for posting about her. The more people that know, the more hearts can be changed, and the more children can find homes.
Yours in Christ,
Jess

I could not sleep last night with the thoughts of this little girl in my head. Wish I could be the one to bring her home. I will be praying she gets to come home to a family VERY VERY soon!

She now has a $5000 grant for her adoption, which would be put toward some of the end fees like airfare and final agency fees once the last court date is given. That's very helpful!

I haven't been able to get this little girl out of my mind since posting that she is at these end stages, where something must be done to help her.
I am so sad for her and am hoping and praying that a family will be found for her very soon!

She has found a family!!! :hcry: Praise God!!!
Please keep praying though. There are so many other beautiful children facing the same fate and most of the time there is no notice of when their "last week" to be adopted is going to be.

For those who want to see it, this is a video from Reece's Rainbow ministry. It is beautiful and also heartbreaking. I know that I sob whenever I see it. There are just so many.

Since I've already been asked, NO, it isn't me. ;) I don't know who it is, but eventually they should have a profile put up on this page: http://reecesrainbow.com/familysponsorshipnew.htm
Thank you all so much for your prayers and your concern for a girl so far away. It is always such a thrill to see the Lord work in mighty ways on behalf of His children. :hcry:
