If you are the parent of a severely disabled child, I would definitely recommend the book Blue Sky July. I had put off reading it, and I finally purchased it on a whim and I'm so glad I did (http://ineverimagined.blogspot.com/2009/09/blue-sky-july.html)!

The book looks interesting. My mom worked at the United Cerebral Palsy center for years. I'll have to tell her about it.
I enjoyed your blog too. What an amazing story your little guy has.
:group:Hugs to you on the heartache you must have suffered.

Thanks,I'll look into it. I recently got a couple of SN parenting books and was just frustrated with both of them...maybe I just wasn't ready to read them yet. I think the titles were You Will Dream New Dreams and The Elephant in the Playroom.

I agree with Chris about your blog. :thumb: I don't know any other CP moms, or many SN moms at all IRL, and your blog was a comforting "I'm not alone" read.

One book I have been happy with was The View From Our Shoes. It's a collection of essays from the siblings of SN kids. I think it's been good for my older kids to read and I enjoyed it too.

Thank you, Trish . . . I don't know if I could have read You Will Dream New Dreams--even the title sounds cliche' to me!
