Does anyone know of a simple, online source for starting out teaching these roots?
I think these could make up another paint chip game! ;)
I don't want another book to keep track of, (and yes, I realize the irony with the paint chips and all) but would like an online source.
I"m willing to look at books though! ;)
thanks!

If you're willing to look at books, English From the Roots Up is pretty good. You could also just buy the cards that go with it. Or, you could by Rummy Roots and wait on the EFTRU. I started using Rummy Roots at least 2 years before I ever purchased EFTRU. (And yes, at our house, we call it "EFTRU.") :D
If you do it, please describe how you put it together!!

I totally will. I got a list of 30 and then some more...
I'm thinking a couple of things
1. Match the root w/ the definition (all written)
2. Match the root to a pictoral representation
I'm sort of thinking using posterboard and clip art and making up a board with the pictoral reps and putting them on the pb. They could easily be printed on labels so they'd be "ready" stick. I'm also thinking the kids could make their own picture and attach it to the board instead.
Then (creative person that I am - ha!) we'd just go through our list as we learn them. I'd call them out and they could use sticky tack to attach it to the right spot. We could tally points etc... I'm thinking something similar for the phoneme/phonogram thingy...
We could perhaps even do a charade version of acting out the meaning...
Basically, I'm just in love with the paint chips. And needing ideas... :D
