We're rowing Climbing Kansas Mountains this week and I plan to make bread.
I'm debating between making bread in a bag or actually making bread the "old fashioned way." (I'm actually thinking about trying to make it both ways and comparing it with the kids.) But if I did just one OR the other, which would you prefer to do, as a homeschool teacher and as a mom. I'll have 3 participating, with 1 extra helper destroying it all.

I have never made bread in a bag, but last week I did that with my meatloaf and I thought it was more difficult than 'hands on' so I feel like bread would be easier outside the bag....but it could just be me. Or since you have so many working, you could do half and half and see the results...sounds like so much fun! we love making bread here.

Bread from scratch isn't terribly difficult. It's a lot of work if you make all your bread this way but just one loaf for a special project isn't too bad. Just make sure you have all your ingredients set out before hand and if possible corral the human tornado in the high chair with a little ball of dough of his own. (Mix up a little Bisquick or something)

Good luck.

Here's a link to a really easy recipe for bread. I make it at least once every 2 weeks, and my 6 and 8 year olds help me out. The bread is delicious and it looks really pretty, too.:)
