Neat FIAR experience

today. We've been rowing "Cowboy Charlie" last week and this. Today, in Language Arts, we went over Songs and Poetry. Well, I was able to find a go-along for this section called "I Hear America Singing! Folk Songs for American Families" Collected and Arranged by Kathleen Krull. The CD that came with it, only had a portion of the songs listed in the book, but much to my surprise, it also had "Follow the Drinking Gourd" on the CD and the words written out.

As we'd already rowed this book, I played the song, just to see the boys reaction. They made the connection right away. :clap: :clap:

Oh, this CD is GREAT! Although I have to say that "The Cat Came Back" is not MY favorite song, and gets a little "wearing" AND "Wearying"... ;) This was one of my kids' favorite CD's when we drove cross country a couple of years ago.

For the most part, the songs are VERY well done, and a lot of fun. There are a number of them that are well known, as well as some that are more obscure.
