We're rowing I Am an Artist, and it stretched into 2 weeks b/c we didn't have school every day last week. I brainstormed some additional activities for it, and, jumping off from the "God is the original artist" idea, I came up with making classification cards of the things that God created in the first 7 days.

For example, day 1 had a black card (for darkness) and a yellow card (for light). Since God rested on the 7th day, I made a blank card to represent "nothing."

We read the creation story & Jimmy had a blast sorting the cards into days. It was difficult for him to remember the days, but I think he got the point that God created everything.

And that is the PERFECT book to do this time of year!

 We're enjoying taking nature walks, especially when they lead us to the park. We're also enjoying the plants we started from seeds back in The Carrot Seed's week.

So far, I think this might actually be my favorite B4 book. Shocked me, gotta say. (I would have sworn Goodnight Moon would be my fav.)

We kept it pretty light, actually. We did several days of Bible verses (there's a lot of passages about creation showing God's glory). We did a nature walk, and collected things to use in an art project on another day. The art project was a big hit! I used a hot glue gun, though, so they just told me where to glue stuff on. It wasn't quite as hands-on as I would have liked, but such it is.
