How does everyone contain all the darling activites and memories? My guy will be 3 in July and we will start B4FIAR in August. I think he is a bit young for lapbooking.
(Btw when I taught 2nd and 4th grade...lapbooks were a HIT! The kids loved them and the parents would come back the next year and comment about how they still look at them and treasure them!)

I am just laughing as I had great plans but alas, they never came to fruition.
I do have lots of pictures from activites that I have kept and my hope is that I get them in a FIAR album. We shall see!
Other than that, I hold all of my memories dear to my heart!
Have fun!

If I had it to do over with my older boys, I would be taking TONS of photos and putting them in a special notebook. I plan to do that every year..and haven't. Maybe this year. ;)

My DC each have a binder. They put artwork and any worksheets they've done (not all, but some), completion certificates from the back of workbooks, etc. I also keep information on what activities we've done as well as a course study for their age (from World Book's website).

At first, we put together a 3 ring paper report folder for each book.
Now I do photos and scrap them on my blog.

Our family just got too big to keep doing the folders.
Some things have been sent to relatives as "gifts" and
others have mentioned taking things to local nursing homes
for others to enjoy.

Cj, what you are doing in your blog is beautiful. I love how you include a picture of one of your kids holding the books. :thumb:

I keep a binder for loose stuff. When Ted was tinier, it was things with little parts, so it also had a pencil bag in it, for the pieces. (Like cards to match on a story page.)
I also blog about the memories part of it, and at the end of each year I take all those entries and my extra photos and format them into a book. (And then I print it with www.lulu.com for a nice keepsake, but there are local places like Kinkos and Staples that could probably do it too.) Kind of a cross between journaling and scrapbooking, for me, and nice to do it all at the end of the year, at least if I've kept up with the entries.
