We have company coming for breakfast tomorrow. I'd like to make a good tried-and-true recipe coffee cake. TIA!

Coffee Cake
For the batter mix the following:
3 cups Bisquick
1 egg
1- 3 oz. pkg. vanilla pudding
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2/3 cup oil
Ingedients for the topping:
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbls. butter
1 tbls. cinnamon
2 tbls. Bisquick
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the batter by hand and pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
For topping ~ with pastry blender, cut butter into brown sugar, cinnamon, and Bisquick mixture. When well cut, springkle over th cake and make sure to put the topping along the edges. Bake for 30 minutes. While cake is still warm, drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze.
We love this served with fresh fruit, bacon, and coffee! :yum:
ETA: You can mix the batter ahead of time and freeze. Just pour it into your prepared baking dish and freeze the entire thing. In the morning it can go straight from the freezer to the oven, but you will need to adjust the baking time.

This one is an overnight one that I've made and is good:

sometimes I substitute lemon pudding for the vanilla and then use white sugar in the topping. (I cut back a little on the sugar). It is truly amazing - both versions! I've never frozen it- I'll have to try that.
