I've been very pleased with our Christmas and Easter studies and thought I'd share something I learned from No Ordinary Home.
In the book, the author talks about adopting a theme to focus on for the holidays. I wasn't exactly sure how to do that, but the Lord has shown me it can be a great blessing!
For Christmas, we took time to study the religious symbols of Christmas based on some of the unit studies shared here. We all learned a lot.
This Easter, our study has shifted into a focus too, Jesus, the Lamb of God. We're learning about Passover and the prophecies of Jesus. It's been wonderful to see how Jesus is our precious lamb throughout the Bible. I've based our crafts and activities on this theme.
The Lord has already led me to a theme for next Easter: Where Jesus Walked. We're going to use Explore the Holy Land (http://www.achildsgeography.com/volume-two/) as our base.
It's hard for me to explain how this focused study has opened my eyes to God's Word. It's amazing how taking a small section of a greater story can make the story even sweeter. :hcry:
I'm not sure I'm making any sense, but I encourage you to try it!
