On a whim, I thought I'd see if she had any spare copies of The Yellow Ball, I was sad to hear she doesn't even have a personal copy of her own. :(
She also said she has learned the The Yellow Ball "will eventually be available as part of some sort of learning to read program." I'm not sure when that will be, but at least we know it will be reprinted again. Hopefully we won't have to buy a big set of something we don't want/need to get it.
I thought you'd all like to know!

Here's a follow-up I just received . . .
Marie, I do remember begin told once that YB is part of the books recommended by Before Five in a Row but it had left my mind since then.
The people who are reprinting it as a paperback and also bringing out a digital version are Briarwood, or to be more specific, Briarwood Books, 379 North University Avenue, Provo Utah 84601. THey are a startup run by two women who have been involved in education for about twenty years.
But does Five in a Row suggest hardbacks or paper? If hardbacks, I need to go someplace else to get them printed, which I'll (finally) do soon.
Thank you. Molly
It almost sounds as though she could have them printed herself . . . doesn't it??

Yep! It sure does. I'm saying a prayer and keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

Here's another email . . . she is great with contact!!
Thanks, Marie.
Briarwood will be bringing out a paperback edition and I might be doing one as well through The Author's Guild.

I also emailed Bonnie Becker about The Quiet Way Home. I am hoping to hear back from her as well.

Marie,
Thanks for taking the time to email these authors! I'm excited to possibly be able to own a copy of Yellow Ball one day.

Do you have a Goodwill store anywhere near you? I got my copy at Goodwill for $1.99. Could not believe it!

I just read this to J-2 last night. He loved it!! You can tell the boy has watched tooo much TV, when the book was finished, he told me to turn it back on! So, we read it twice, and we also enjoyed Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? But I told him Jesse Bear was "night night" and we would have to visit him tomorrow.
Yellow Ball is our new favorite book! Also, I found my copy in a lot of books I bought from The Well Trained Mind boards.

I found mine at a library book sale. It is missing a page :( , but because it is wordless you can't really tell :) . It's better than not having it at all.
So glad to hear about a possible reprint!

Thanks. I was just looking at my list of FIAR & B4FIAR books that still want to get, and finally though if I don't ask I'll never know.
I am secretly hoping another author will be like Wendy Or, and have a box of books that he/she never sold or gave away. Then, upon hearing it is a title for FIAR, be so flattered that he/she offers to sign the books and sell them directly to us. :D
Can't blame a girl for trying, right? ;)

Could you ask her one more question for me?
My little ones have been having an ongoing debate about whether the little boy who finds the ball is the same one who lost it. (the hair on the 2nd boy looks longer) One believes that it floated back with the tide, and the other thinks it floated across the ocean. It would be fun to give them the official answer.
Thanks!

That is an interesting question. Here is Molly's address: mgbbooks@aol.com
(It was posted on her website, so it is available to anyone wanting to contact the author.) :D
I haven't ever seen the book, my library doesn't have it. You and your dc may be able to describe it better and they would probably get a kick out of hear directly from her themselves!
Then please post back with her response!

Sheryl,
I just wondered if you ever received an answer to this?
