Learning the compass rose and following maps with instructions, we decided to do a treasure map.

Find the Hidden Treasure by following these instructions and using the printed map.
1. Enter in the livingroom from the hall.
2. Take 2 paces east to the end of the wooden bench.
3. Turn south. Walk 7 paces to Mountain of Father’s Chair (Pretend to be standing on the Mountain of Father’s Chair.)
4. Turn east again. Travel east 3 paces to the middle of the room.
5. Face south again. Take 2 paces in front of the couch.
6. Walk West 7 paces toward the Dining Room.
7. Turn south once again while standing near Mountain of Mother’s Chair
8. Move 2 paces toward the Green Chair.
9. Turning South, in 2 more paces you will find your BURIED HIDDEN TREASURE!
We have a very large livingroom so this worked well. I do not know how well it'd work in a smaller room. (I DID allow my child to STAND on the Mountain of Father's Chair and CLIMB the Mountain of Mother's Chair. --- Not normally permitted.)
