Hi, my name is Jean and I am the proud single homeschooling mom to one DS (9) and the proud daycare provider of 7. My DS and I started our homeschooling journey in 2005, and my plan is to HS through high school. Currently we are using Math.U.See, Learning Language Arts Through Literature, Cozy English, WinterPromise's American Story 1, Apologia science (Zoology), nature studies, ...
I have been using WinterPromise's Animals and the Worlds with the daycare children but will be switching to BFIAR and Sing, Spell, Read, Write. I also bought BYFIAR volume 1 to try with my DS. We are all anxiously awaiting our books, I ordered yesterday evening.
My plan is to begin with We're Going on a Bear Hunt. I bought a few of the books and will buy the others at a letter time. We live in a rural area and our public library is almost smaller then our own home library, so I will purchase them. Plus I am sure we will want to row each book a few times.
I look forward to meeting you all!
Jean

Candace, thank you for the welcome! I have always had a fondness toward We're Going on a Bear Hunt, so I knew I wanted to start there. From there, I am not sure...All the books are great books.

Thank you! My daycare parents are all very appreciative of me, and often let me know this. Four of my daycare moms work for schools, private and public, and they are always asked if I have any openings. None of us see this happening any time soon. :)

You're gonna love using Before with "your" kids Jean. I'm sure you are very much in demand. Finding a good daycare provider, especially someone who does fun things like this, is a rare treasure.

Marcy, the kids are so excited...Me too. ;)
I live in a rural area and there is just no care for kids. The nearest center is about an hour away, and there are just a few family daycare homes and I have heard poor things about them. I used to live in a suburb of Cleveland and there was so many options for parents. I feel sorry for the parents that need care here.

Sounds like your hands are full and you're in for quite a ride:):) It should be fun!
Mind sharing the general area you're in in VA? I'm in NOVA

:hi: Jean and Welcome.
I use to do daycare a long time ago when my oldest ds was young and I loved to do the fun things too, but I didn't know about FIAR back then, wish I did.
I live in VA too, so just wondering what part you are in. We are in Shawsville, between Blacksburg and Roanoke. When you come through our town, don't blink  you'll miss us.
Glad your here.

Ladies, thank you so much for the warm welcome! We live about an hour West of Charlottesville. We just moved to VA 2 years ago from a suburb of Cleveland. We are so enjoying being in a more rural setting. We are still learning about VA though. It took me forever to figure out what direction I was going in. I was used to having Lake Erie to my North. lol
