I read on some old posts that some of you have made felt Jesse Bear dolls with clothes. I have the link to a pattern and instructions, but I sure would feel better if I could see an actual picture. Does anyone have a picture or blog link you can share?

I am guessing with 34 views and no responses, that others are interested as well, butno one has a picture.
I didn't have a pattern, but had lots of felt. I just cut out a bear shape (that is a generic boy shape with bear ears on the head). I cut out a little oval shape for the shout and a little black circle for the nose. I added googly eyes. I traced the bear on the other colors of felt to be sure the shirt and shorts fit. My dd then helped me make the other pieces (sun, rose, bathtub, bib, etc.)
If I can find all the pieces I will take a picture of them, but I don't know how to post pictures on the message boards.

I know that someone has them posted on her blog. I can't remember who though. I made one a while back and well I don't have it here, or I would take a picture of it too. Mine turned out so cute, I even made the star underpants. Anyway... someone told me to cut around the template, and then to make the clothes, just cut the template to fit it. so, the shirt for example, you would cut the head off of the template and the lower arms and then cut the clothes. The same or pants, cut the top off and the lower legs if you are going for shorts. This was fun and dd was really excited in the morning when she found her Jessie Bear set.
Hope that helps. Run a search on Jessie Bear felt and see what comes of it.

I ran a search on "jesse bear felt" and found a HUGE thread about it. It ended with someone sharing her blog. When I click on it, it comes up blank. It could be a problem I'm having from here in China. It could be a blog problem. Can someone else try it and let me know if it's my problem or a blog problem?

I tried getting on her blog too, but I had the same problem as you.
I have the felt pieces ready to go, but we don't do the book until next week. After that it will be on my blog ... not that that helps you right now.

Well I guess I should visit the B4 forum more often! I read this thread and thought well sure I can take a pic of what we have, of course if you were looking for certain pics of the felts well these aren't it
I used a scrapbooking stencil and just added 2 bumps on the head for ears and cut off the thumbs, then for the pjs I cut off the head and hands from the human stencil

Then I made a bunch of fun clothes for the kids to mix and match I mostly used scraps of solid colors but then I did some white shirts and colored them with markers so that they had stripes, polka dots, and plaid- I also bought pink felt that had white polka dots to make the dress for my daughter's Jesse Bear.

I hope that helps, reply back if you have any more questions :)

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. Very cute! Anyone else?
Here's a photo of our Jesse Bear felt pieces. I am certainly no artist, but it didn't matter. My son absolutely LOVED playing with this. He even got a small box and kept putting him to bed and getting him dressed and then woke him up to change his clothes again.
Fun!

Sure does make me want to do Jesse Bear with my 2yo! Also thinking of making him some puppets for Christmas from patterns I have.
I might have to give him a Jesse Bear set too. Now if I can just figure out where I'll make the time to do all this!

I love that stencil, where did you get that!! That would be fun to make felt people with, and paper people etc..

This is the link to what I used to make our felt Jesse Bear.

We used the Bare Bear pattern when we did Jesse Bear (three years ago!). I will look and see if I have any pictures to share.
If you go here (http://www.homeschoolshare.com/b4_resources_jesse_bear.htm) and scroll down, you'll see a few different kinds of bear paper dolls. The Bare Bear link (that I mentioned above) is there. I liked that doll because it was a nice tool to teach ds about dressing appropriately for weather.

Cute, Theresa! Where did you find your pattern? Is your bear made out of felt too? It is hard to tell by the pictures, but I am guessing it is.

Hi Kelly,
Yes, my bear is made of felt. I found the pattern from a post here on the Before FIAR board. I'll see if I can find it.

O.kay here (http://www.first-school.ws/t/craft/bear_xmas1bw.htm) is the link for the pattern I used to make our Jesse Bear. I printed it on card stock and then cut it out and used it for a template to draw the bear onto the felt.
