Anyone have some fun games for toddlers? Somehow the pieces to our Barnyard Bingo have mostly disappeared since the last time I played and they don't have replacement parts.
I'm looking to make some games for him because he is always asking to play a game!
He likes to match and I have the go fish FP game too. Any others that are book go alongs? I should drag out the ones from the FNLs but they are more alphabet oriented. Though the pocket book one isn't. It is matching pictures. Hmmm....
I need a game for The Red Carpet!
Heather (who sometimes forgets that she has a cutie 2yo who just wants to PLAY all the time!!);)

Oh, Heather...I remember those days :perplex:...My ds always wanted to play...We used to have to "sneak" and play when he was asleep...FP Go Fish was a fave for that age...Altenatively, I used to let him be on my team and let him be my helper.
In any event, here are some that your ds might be able to play, particularly if he's an older 2yo:
* Matching Lotto (by Brain Quest...Picked it up at Target)
* Cariboo (needs to know his alphabet by sight and colors)
* Hulabaloo (needs to know his colors & shapes)
* Trouble (needs to know how to count)

My 3yodd loves to play the Goodnight Moon game. I had ordered it for her online last Christmas and it was a good purchase. The game can be played at different levels and she even enjoys playing it alone by matching the cards to the board. Other games she enjoys are the usuals: Memory, Hi-Ho-Cheerio and an alphabet fishing game from Discovery Toys(can't think of the name).

There's a cute Wheels on the Bus game. And, there is also a Duck, Duck, Goose game. Both have music and are very toddler/preschool friendly.

Lucky Ducks (teaches colors)
Hullabaloo (My almost 2 yr. old loves joining in on this one (probably b/c she loves dancing to the music), and I think she's catching on to some of the colors by doing it with the rest of us - a fun family favorite!
Hungry Hippos - I do have to really watch her with this one b/c she still tries to sneak marbles into her mouth every once in a while.
Elefun - an all-time favorite around here (and the 2 yo. loves it!)
I can't really think of anything to make for that age other than some sort of fishing game with juice lids and pole with magnet attached. I'm working on saving lids for this right now. I'm going to put pictures of animals (I think) on the lids, and then ask her to fish for a cow, etc. Then ask her what does the cow say, etc.? Hope this makes sense. Have fun!

Jack loves Elefun, too. And he's dying for Hungry, Hungry Hippos!
I also got a game at a consignment sale called Lickety-Split. It is for older kids and is pretty much a visual discrimination game, but he LOVES it!
As far as stuff I have made, I found a great shape/color game at toddlertoddler.com that he still loves. And I made some stuff from Preschool Activities in a Bag. I also have made him a bunch of magnets of friends, family, book characters, TV characters, etc. that he will spend hours playing with. Not really a game, but he will make up stories and songs with them and I can get some stuff done!

Whew! That one was far too noisy and annoying for me...Besides, my dd didn't really like it...I was happy to get rid of it.

My kids love (an understatement) 123 Diego. It teaches counting, animal classification and matching. There are boards and each child takes turns picking cards from a bag.
I second Cariboo.
Have fun!

Oh, if you have not rowed Good Night Moon, you have got to get The Good Night Moon matching game!!! All of my kids have enjoyed playing it. It is Luke's turn to play with it now as we started rowing this book yesterday.

I haven't rowed it with him yet Kelly. Where do I find this wonderful game? I'd like to get for him for Christmas.
