I just wanted to say that I just think that BFIAR is an awesome resource, and in reading through it again today I got so much encouragement and great ideas. We are in a really transitional part of our life right now, have been for about 4 months since we moved from MI to our homestate of NC... but for about 2 years I've been collecting BFIAR titles and they are among my 3 year old's favorites. I have looked at so many different homeschooling resources, and I truly feel that BFIAR is the BEST thing out there for the 2-4 yo crowd.
Now that we are more settled in our new home, and I have a few brain cells again, I'm looking forward to drawing on BFIAR even more. My 3 yo will be 4 in November, and she is very eager to do "school" stuff, but is not (IMO) ready for a really structured homeschool experience. I am so glad to have BFIAR to draw on, and now my 1.5 yo is showing an interest and ability to listen to the same stories as her sister. I just need a bigger chair, our recliner is a bit small for both of them in my lap!
I'm still trying to decide if I want to continue in my old "haphazard" approach of if we read a book from BFIAR and dd wants to do something, reading and getting ideas/inspiration on the spot, or actually "rowing" a BFIAR book each week... I might try the latter now, but just keep it fun & easy still. I am trying to treasure these laid-back years because I know they will be over before I'm ready!
