We're going to do Angus Lost this week. Any ideas for go-alongs or can't miss activities?:D

No ideas but I love that book- there are others about Angus, I believe, that would make good go-alongs.

Our favorite activity in Angus Lost with my 1st dd that did B4FIAR was the cave! I think the manual talks about doing this. If not, we used chairs and a couple large blankets and made a cave. My daughter pretended to be Angus and hid in the cave. She re-played this over and over throughout the year. We then talked and read about other animals that would live in a cave. We followed Angus up with starting Going on a Bear Hunt...another cave book. A favorite go-along with both books was Stellaluna( book about a bat, of course an animal you'd find in a cave).

Like Allison mentioned..."bear Hunt" book is a good book to follow or make a "caves" connection. Also "Jenny's Surprise Summer" has a "cave" where she hides from a storm.

Another connection you can make is when you read "If Jesus came to my house". The boy's dog looks just like Angus.

I think the manual has some great things to talk about for this book.

We are having fun with Angus. Thanks for all the ideas. I think I will have my two older girls set up a cave full of surprises for him to explore!
I went back to the library and was able to find Angus and the Ducks-that is a fun book, too. We've been acting it out and he loves being Angus. I always have to be the mean old ducks. I am still waiting for our library's copy of the video of Angus Lost.
