I was using Google Image search to see if I could find a picture of Mailing May to use for our timeline and I typed in May's name and found this website from the author.

For our lesson today were discussing how the illustrator was true to the text, but after looking at these photographs it's obvious he was true to the original photograhs too! It was fun to see how much May looked like the real May and Grandma's house was painted exactly the same too.

We haven't rowed it yet; I had no idea that it really happened. Amazing!

We received Mailing May through interlibrary loan yesterday. We were so relieved to discover that May wasn't put in a box and shipped like we'd thought!

Tee Hee... we were thinking the same thing! We had listened to an Adventure in Odyssey about the Underground Railroad, where they had actually shipped a runaway slave in a box!

I was glad to hear that May didn't have to go in to a box!
