This is my first year using it. I'm using it with dd5- (ds8 does listen on sometimes though). Anyway, I was so intimidated about notebooking, BUT it is going well. I plan on doing one FIAR volume a year so some of the books we are going to row 2 weeks each year(the ones that seem to have a lot of meat to them). The past couple of weeks we have been rowing Ping and dd has liked me reading it everyday-( after last week- I gave her a choice of me reading it everyday this week or just going over the points) She is bringing up things to me and noticing art and a lot of different things in the book on her own. It helps to have different kinds of notebook pages (Cindy Rushton's pages- many of them)so we just fill in the vocab. words and draw a picture of them and place in notebook etc. Dd likes the coloring and pasting etc And today she made Egg drop soup- so I will have pictures and the recipe to put in notebook. This is great and is very light and nice curriculum! Anyway, just had to share. The FIAR planner makes it neat to be able to write out what will be done each day too.

This is great to hear! In a few weeks, I will be starting my first year of FIAR with my 5- and 4-year-olds, and it's encouraging to know your experience is going so well. Yay!

This is our first year with FIAR as well and I am LOVING it!!! We did How To Make An Apple And See The World last week. We enjoyed the time together and our activities. Our favorite part was using the map and making an apple pie together. I love being in the kitchen with the kids. This week we're doing A Pair of Red Clogs and they're totally into it.

We've been, and will be, taking it slow until we're home Sept. 18th after an annual trip to visit my folks in ID.

What a blessing that we can have so much fun with our kids and they're learning!!! Whoo-Hoo!!! :hop:

This is my first year too. We (dd6 and ds4) have done Papa Piccolo and Katy and the Big Snow so far. They are loving it almost as much as me:roflol: This is a blast. It really doesn't feel like school somedays.....enjoy everyone!
