Madeline Movie

I was just noticing on our library calendar that they are showing a movie called Madeline next week. However, it is rated PG. Is this movie from the book? Anyone know if it's appropriate for a 4yo?

Yes, and no. It's like the book in many ways, and a cute movie. However we don't own it for a reason... there are a couple of scary scenes with Pepito (in one he is dressed like satan- it is very frightening for the children). The ending (with the "bad guys") is tense for little ones.

That said... we know where those parts are and have watched it with our finger on the "skip" button. LOL

Yes, this movie is from the book,we watched it last year and both dc enjoyed it.

There are a few scenes were the kids are mean to each other...that said, my girls LOVE this movie! And I am generally pretty picky about what we watch. It is based on the book and my girls enjoyed this movie greatly!

It kind of mushes together the plots from all the books. My kids love it. The bad guy does swear once or twice, and for a movie with a nun in it, it seems rather bleak in its worldview .. but the kids are cute and it's fun.

Hmmm, since it will be at the library, I won't have the option to skip any scary parts. And I'm pretty sure the parts Nicolein mentioned would be scary for my little guy. So, we'll save it for when he's a little older.

I love this website for checking out movies to see if we want to see them. My kids are allowed to see movies that are 3.4.3 or lower. (With the exception of the 2yo of course.)

Our local university has thousands of videos and they've gotten a couple hundred dvd's now. I like to try and find one tape that fits in with a book. They've got 33 Reading Rainbow videos so we'll be getting the Germs, Germs, Germs, episode for Madeline next month.

And I LOVE Reading Rainbow. I've got to get some of those. :-)
