HELP!!! I've been to Michael's and Wal Mart and have called Hobby Lobby, and no one seems to carry the sheets of beeswax any more. Any ideas where I can find some? I googled it and came up with one store in Canada that is closed until tomorrow. Anyone have any other ideas for me? I want to row this next week and make candles, but I have to have beeswax to make candles.....
Thanks!

I know that beeswax sheets are used a lot in the Waldorf method of schooling-- maybe google waldorf schooling supplies or something like that?
I would also just google candlemaking supplies and maybe one of those suppliers has them?
Good idea and good luck!

. . . please let me know where! We rowed The Bee Tree this past week and I didn't think it would be any trouble to find sheets of beeswax to make candles, until I went to numerous stores unsuccessfully. Oh, well . . . when I do find some (because I'm determined  ), we'll have a fun activity AND a good review of what we learned!
I get beeswax sheets from an independent hobby store -- not a chain. See if you have one in your city. And I know there's a hsing catalog that sells them, but I can't remember which one it is! Did you look at Rainbow Resource, just to check? I think it's a small catalog company, though. Sorry I can't remember which one.
It's definitely worth it to find them! They're super-easy to make, burn beautifully, and make great gifts, if you can bring yourself to part with any of them!

If anyone finds a link, be sure and post it back on this thread!
Thanks! Good luck, Paige! Hope you find some soon!

Here are a couple of links to order online. I have not ordered from any of these companies.

Another option is making dipped beeswax candles. We did this for a history lesson. You would need beeswax pellets (my mom has odered these online for her soapmaking), wick, popsicle sticks, two alum. cans (taller veg. cans). You put water in both cans. Set one can of water in a pot of boiling water and add pellets to the can. Once the pellets are melted carefully remove can from water. Tie you string of wick to the popsicle stick (we did 2 at a time). Dip the string in the hot wax, then dip in the can of cold water(add ice cubes to make it really cold). Smooth the wax periodically after you dip in the cold water. We love our candles we made this way. I just had to constantly remind the kiddos not to touch them until they had dipped them in the cold water.

I FINALLY found some sheets of beeswax without it costing an arm and a leg! Literally, I have searched and searched. One site wanted you to spend a minimum of $25 before they'd let you buy, some others are in Canada, and while their prices were great, shipping was close to $17   Not worth the "cost" of the craft!
Today, I finally thought to check ebay  I should have done that MUCH earlier, but I didn't think they'd sell individual sheets, but they do! I just ordered 8 sheets (some for me and some for Joy :D ). It sounds like the wick comes with it, but if not, I know that Hobby Lobby carries the wicks. Whew! Now it's to keep my fingers crossed that it'll be here by the end of next week so we can do the craft while we're rowing the book ;)

Magic Cabin has them if anyone is interested.

I have ordered from them many times and they have always been a great company to deal with.
That's it! Magic Cabin -- I'll bet that's the catalog I saw them in.
Well, it's not a hs catalog, but I wasn't too far off. :D

I know Hobby Lobby had a big brick of beeswax. I bought one of those when we did Cowboy Charlie. We discovered that making figures out of beeswax would have really strengthened his hands! :)
I remember a while back that Paige had asked about the beeswax candles. I hadn't tried out the Magic Cabin candles yet so I didn't want to give them a plug. Now I can. :D
I bought the beeswax candles in Autumn colors from Magic Cabin. We've been having lovely warm autumn afternoons here so we took advantage of it and made beeswax candles yesterday.
This evening, the girls and I sat outside and chatted in the glow of our beautiful beeswax candles. We were not disappointed with the candles.
